ThanK you!
I am so grateful to everyone who has donated books, spread the word and supported me during this project. I was able to reach my goal and then some and am still going!
Along with this I was able to have many helpful conversations with teachers at my school and the principal as well as my classmates and fellow students. Next year with the support of various teachers I will be starting a club dedicated to ensuring our school is a safe place for all. I have also been given the opportunity to create a dedicated space in my school library with easy access to resources and inclusive books.
This project also allowed me the opportunity to visit my little brother's school and read one of the donated books to his class and tell them about my project. This was so cool! In total we were able to donate over 75 books and even received so many duplicates that we included a donation to a third school. Books have still been arriving even though it is summer which is so awesome!
I am thinking through what to do with Project Rainbow now that my passion project is over. I know one thing is for sure, I am not ready to say goodbye. Maybe I will have a book drive every June to celebrate pride or simply keep the site open all the time. I have already begun adding new books to my amazon list and am excited to continue to spread the rainbow. I hope the list of books and my resource page will continue to be helpful, please feel free to keep sharing my site!
Thanks again to everyone who has joined me on this quest to spread the rainbow! We are better together!
